Pick your destination region and what you care about, and this tool ranks JFK, LaGuardia and Newark for your specific trip — flights, time to the city, transit and terminal amenities, weighted your way.
How it works
How the picker decides
The tool scores each airport 0–10 on your chosen priorities and averages them. Flight options are scored by how well each field serves your destination region — LaGuardia's 1,500-mile perimeter rule zeroes out long-haul and the West Coast, which is why Europe or Los Angeles pushes you to JFK or Newark. Time, transit and amenities use fixed per-airport ratings documented in our airport-comparison guide.
The picker helps you choose a departure field; when you've picked one, book a flat-rate car to it. Verify live flights and schedules with your airline.
FAQ
Frequently asked
Which NYC airport is best for international flights?
JFK has the most international nonstop destinations of any US airport. Newark is a strong second, especially on United across the transatlantic. LaGuardia handles only limited international service — mainly preclearance Canada and a few Caribbean markets.
Why can't I fly to Los Angeles nonstop from LaGuardia?
LaGuardia's 1,500-mile perimeter rule bars most nonstops beyond that distance, with narrow exceptions for Denver and Saturdays. Los Angeles is well beyond the perimeter, so transcon nonstops run from JFK or Newark.
